My father, a fighter-pilot and one uncle, who was a British Commando fought the Japanese in WW II, the latter fought them in Burma (several other uncles fought the Germans). After Nam I was stationed in Japan for a few years, they are an amazing people, thank God they are no longer our enemies.

My father was stationed in the Pacific during World War II also. He was in the US Navy.
